Peru's squid export margin soars in H1
Peru's squid export magnitude increased dramatically in the first half of the year, data released by the Peruvian Ministry of Production showed that Peru exported about 953,400 tons of fish products worth $2.05 billion in the first half of 2023, an increase of 4% in volume and 3% in value compared to the same month of 2022, which, according to the agency, was driven by the significant year-on-year increase in sales of frozen squid, which increased 185% in volume and 185% in value over the same period to 320,300 tons valued at $589.7 million.
